The juvenile probation department is open from 9 am to 5 pm every business day, with the exception of Thursday. On Thursday, the department is open from 9 am until 8 pm.
A probation officer will be assigned your child's case at the next business day, and will contact you as soon as they are able. You can call the main number, 574-235-5400, if you have any immediate questions, during business hours of 9 am to 5 pm.
To pay probation fees, you must come down to the front desk in the Probation Department at the Juvenile Justice Center. You must provide cash or a money order.
The Juvenile Justice Center is always in need of volunteers to mentor a child, assist in tutoring detainees in detention, or to provide the appropriate religious services to detainees while in detention. In addition, a limited number of practicum experiences for students is also provided in the Mental Health and Probation Departments.
